Welcome to Angela Lee's writing portfolio, where you can explore her wide range of writing styles. Angela is a versatile writer with expertise in academic writing, design, creative writing, technical writing, and editing. Angela began her journey with writing at a young age, writing stories and "newspapers" for her friends and family. This passion for writing grew, and by the time she started college in 2020, she decided she wanted to be able to help others through writing.

Angela's long-term goals include getting her M.A. and J.D.. She believes that writing is a powerful tool that can be used to educate, entertain, and inspire others. With her portfolio, Angela hopes to provide a glimpse into her world of writing and share her hope of one day writing for the good of others.

Young Fashion Models

Research on Ethnolinguistics in the Appalachian Mountains

Angela Lee was tasked with researching ethnolinguistics in the Southern Appalachia region. This research centers around Southwest Virginia, Western North Carolina, and Northeastern Tennessee. With a focus on how ethnolinguistics ties into the dialectology of Appalachia, Angela is working with studies completed by North Carolina State University, Virginia Tech, and the University of Tennessee - Knoxville to compile her own research.

Hegemonic Masculinity, Racial Capitalism, and James Baldwin in "A Dialogue" with Nikki Giovanni

In the Fall 2024 semester at Virginia Tech, Angela worked with fourteen other classmates on a semester-long research project surrounding James Baldwin. Our research was presented in a 26-page paper surrounding Nikki Giovanni and James Baldwin's A Dialogue feature on Soul!. In this paper, we analyze how racial capitalism and hegemonic masculinity affected Baldwin and Giovanni's upbringings and subsequent adult belief systems.
